The Sycuan Fire Department in San Diego CA is looking for a few good men and women to attend its annual BIA-Sycuan Wildland Academy firefighter "boot camp" school in 2007, San Diego CA.

GOLDEN EAGLES HOTSHOTS CERTIFICATION
The Interagency Hotshots Crew Operations Guide documents the minimum training, qualifications, physical fitness, operational procedures, certifications and transportation standards for all IHCs. All IHCs must be certified annually as documented in the operations guide.
The Wildland Fire Qualification System Guide (PMS 310-1) provides guidance to participating agencies and organization for the establishment of standards for wildland fire personnel. Personnel meeting the established standards are qualified for mobilization beyond their geographic area. The qualification system described in the guide is a performance based qualification system. Components of the qualifications system are: position task books, training courses, job aids, and agency certification
The Incident Qualification and Certification System (IQCS) was developed under the umbrella of the NWCG, Wildland Fire Qualifications Systems Guide (PMS 310-1).
Agency Administrators / Line Officers are required to insure that all employee fire qualifications are entered and maintained in the Incident Qualification and Certification System (IQCS). This applies to all personnel who perform jobs associated with wildland fire or other all risk incident management.
As a certified Type 1 Interagency Hotshot Crew (IHC), the Golden Eagles firefighters train and maintain current certification with Continue Education (CE) in the following areas:
- CSFM Driver Operator 1A
- CSFM Driver Operator 1B
- EVOC Training
- Helicopter Manager
- Long Line Operations
- Helicopter Repelling
- Hoist Rescue
- Low Angle Rope Rescue
- Class “C” Faller
- First Responder
- Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
- Combi-Tube
- Automatic External Defibrillator (AED)
- Vehicle Extrication
- Spinal Stabilization
- Search and Rescue
NATIVE AMERICAN FIREFIGHTERS
First preference in filling employment career opportunities will be awarded to qualified Native American Indian candidates in accordance with the Indian Act of 1934 (Title 25, USC, Section 472). Verification Form BIA-4432 must be submitted with any employment or training application if applicant is claiming Indian Preference.
