On Wednesday February 20 and Thursday February 21, 2008 @ 0800 hrs the Sycuan Fire Department Safety / Training Division in conjunction with South Western College will be presenting training on Basic Incident Command System, Principles and Features of the ICS. This is an NWCG Course designed to support the training requirements of the Wildland and Prescribed Fire Qualification Guide, PMS 310-1 and is also a requirement for Sycuan Fire Department Position Standards and Pay Scales.

THE COURSE LESSONS:

This course focuses on the Management of Single Resources. The course provides training for personnel who are likely to assume a supervisory position on an incident.

The course will consist of two days of classroom (16hrs) with multiple fire related classroom and field exercises. The Training Cadre has the latitude to rearrange the Agenda to accommodate weather changes or travel times to the field exercise site while ensuring all course objectives are met.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

This course is directed at individuals that have shown an interest, demonstrated the necessary skills, and met all the prerequisites, to include; established minimum training, skills and knowledge, experience and physical fitness requirement for the supervisory position on an incident.

S-110, S-130, S-190, I-100, Incident Command System, IS-700 NIMS Awareness.

NOMINATION FORM:

All applicants are required by NWCG to complete the NWCG application and submit it to Chief Ruiz Sr. no later than February 19, 2008 @ 1600 hrs. Attached you will find a nomination form. NWCG applications can be found on the NWCG and NIFC web sites.

COURSE LOCATION AND START TIME:

Course will be held at the Sycuan Fire Department Training Center Multi-Purpose Room. February 20 & 21, 2008 from 0800 till 1700 hrs.

COURSE TUITION:

The tuition for this course is $50.00.  The cost for other courses may vary depending on the price of equipment, material, facilities, and instructors.
