BIA FIRE POSTER

The Bureau of Indian Affairs BIA Interagency Hotshots Program, the California hotshot crews, represent an important component of wildland fire fighting resources.

Like many other national fire fighting resources the number and location of these crews are dependant on funding, local support, and geographic and national need.

To be productive and effective in fire suppression, a resource mix must be developed and maintained in order to provide the flexibility required to meet the demands of wildland fire fighting.

As a result, requested sponsorship and funding is based on this mix. The process for participating in the BIA sponsored National Hotshot Crew Program is documented on the BIA Fire and Aviation website.
