CHIEF MURPHY Addresses Recruits MOVIE

Sycuan Fire Department Chief Hank Murphy, Kumeyaay, addresses the fire academy cadets on day one of the bootcamp academy at 0800 hours.

"Fire fighting is like being in the combat zone, you have to depend on the men around you."

Chief Hank Murphy, founder of the Sycuan Fire Dept in 1974, includes historical references to the academy and the Golden Eagles Hotshots crew that participated in the 2003 Space Shuttle Columbia recovery effort in response to this national disaster along with NASA, FEMA, the EPA, and other government agencies who began a massive effort to recover debris from the orbiter that was instrumental in determining the cause of the incident.
